Deutsch, Manfred D.,  February 13, 1936 - October 02, 2016.
   
He was born in Stresow, Kr. Greifenhagen, Pomerania, Germany, the son of Franz Albert and Emilie Ottilie (Schulz) Deutsch.  On Oct. 24, 1956 he arrived in America.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960 in Germany, and the Reserves.  He never had a problem finding employment repairing German-made autos.  He retired from Carousel Porsche-Audi in 2002.  Manfred married Marjorie Lyngholm on June 29, 1963 in St. Paul, MN.
   
He is survived by his wife; son, Peter (Ronda) Deutsch; daughter, Lisa (Jeffrey Wepplo) Deutsch; and grandchildren, Joel and Greta Deutsch.
   
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Konrad and Walter.
   
Manfred loved biking and skiing.  He belonged to ULLR and Red Eye Ski Clubs.  He made 100+ ski trips, including to Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, and British Columbia.  He skied several times a week at Trollhaugen.  Manfred died at home in New Hope from cancer.
   
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Valley Community Pres. Church (for Clearwater Camp), Germanic American Institute, or ULLR Foundation (Ski for Life).
   
The private burial is in Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope.
   
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 11:00 AM at Valley Community Pres. Church, 3100 Lilac Dr., Golden Valley with visitation at 10:00 AM.  A luncheon will follow the service.
