Prietzel, Eugene R. age 79 of Eden Prairie passed away 6-19-2013. Preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Maila Prietzel and sister, Shirley Ferry. Survived by loving wife, Rose Prietzel, nephews, Steve (Becky) Ferry, Scott Ferry and Joseph (Lida) Stahl, niece, Pam (Phil) Roddy, sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Will) Nelson, Evelyn Priebe, Agatha (Bob) Woessner, Judy Schoeneberger, dear friends, Mike (Lois) Fitzgerald and Dave (Loni) McCauley, many ULLR friends and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Gene graduated from Plymouth High, Wisconsin in 1951 and Valparaiso University, Indiana with a major in Business Administration. He spent two years in the United States Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. His passions were downhill skiing, piloting a small aircraft, history, spending summers at his lake place in Wisconsin, and socializing with friends and family. He was an active member of the ULLR Ski Club serving as president. He was involved in the "Ski for Light" and "Hearing Impaired" programs. After his stroke in 2003, he loved travel and mostly did cruising. He still loved to party with friends and family even when he could not speak. He had a very expressive face and eyes. He loved people and was always ready to go. He brought happiness to so many people. Even with his physical limitations, he loved life. Funeral service 11:00 AM Wednesday (6/26) at Victory Lutheran Church, 16200 Berger Drive, Eden Prairie with visitation one hour prior to service at church. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
