| ULLRs Resume General Meetings On April 8, 2021, forty-nine ULLRs were absolutely delighted to be together at the first ULLR General Meeting in over a year since March 12, 2020. What a happy group! Smiles were everywhere! For over a year the COVID pandemic thwarted our desires to resume our meetings and picnics. During this winter ULLRs gathered a few times outdoors for hikes, snowshoeing, and skiing. Now biking and spring hikes are being added to our list of ULLR activities, and we have a full slate of 2021 summer What’s Cookin’ picnics scheduled. Since biking, hiking, and picnics are all outdoor activities, we hope to not see any further restrictions that would prevent us from holding these events. Our April 8 General Meeting at the Bloomington Event Center was held in the upstairs restaurant area. It was a nice place for our group. We began with a lively social hour after which ULLR President Sharon M. called the group to order. This was Sharon’s last meeting as President, and we thank her for her leadership these past two years. Event hosts and chairs announced forthcoming ULLR activities and encouraged participation. Mary Jane H. introduced the ULLRs who were nominated for the 2021-22 ULLR Board. She also thanked current Board members who chose not to run again. The new board was elected by unanimous vote. Their terms begin May 1, 2021 and end April 31, 2022. After the election, Joan R. facilitated the 2020 ULLR awards that ordinarily would have been given last spring: ● Jan S. received the “And the Beat Goes On” OLE award from Barb K. ● Jan C. received the “Mother Superior” OLE award from Carol B. ● Sharon M. received the “You Can Do It” Outgoing President award from Joan R. ● Nancy N. received the 2020 ULLR of the Year award from Mary Jane H. Congratulations to our 2020 ULLR awardees! And then the socializing resumed! It was a great evening! | ||
