“Round ‘em up and Head ‘em out!”  Thirty-four ULLRs did just that.  We rounded them up and headed out to Whitefish, Montana via Amtrak for a week filled with adventures, food and camaraderie.  After loading our vans, our wonderful drivers John Stiefel, Dick Johnson and Jerry Schuster guided us up the dark mountain to Whitefish Mountain Resort.  Marilyn Gardner and Jan Murphy, what was that mysterious noise in your condo that night?  Oh yeah, the electric toothbrush turned itself on…oooh!  Spooky!

White Water Rafting, or a quiet Float down the Flathead River included a delicious BBQ dinner.  Watch out Kay Sterling, hang onto that paddle!  Marcia Switenki and Ken Slagle were the hiking champions making short work of the long hike up the “Danny on the Trail.”  Jim Maiser and Ken Slagle even did the hike twice!!  Not tired yet?  Thirteen did the five zip lines later that day, with Connie Huie and Joyce Butler doing seven zips!

Another day and another activity.  Barb Sedges and Pam Anderson were the golfers, several had a marathon coffee tour or shopped, while sixteen of us spent the day the better part of a day trying to read the bike map!  How many ULLRs does it take to read a map?  Luckily we had a nice cold sample at the Great Northern Brewery tour after our ride.  A Red Jammer Ride in Glacier Park was unfortunately viewed through the raindrops and clouds all the way up to Logan Pass.  But, what a great lunch at Many Glacier Lodge.

Kay Sommers had a relative that drove a Jammer during college so she had to buy the replica.  Not done yet, still Tree Top Walking to do.  Twenty-seven joined in to walk 60 feet above the ground, tree to tree.  Yes Joyce, you need to finish the walk.  There is no turning around.  Clip 1 on, Clip 2 on.

Yummy food at great restaurants throughout the week was topped off with a fabulous musical, "Some Enchanted Evening Broadway’s Golden Age" to end the week with memories to last a lifetime.  Great friends, hugs all around and thank you ULLRs for being our friends, family and shared partners in activities that mean so much.
