Thirty-five Ullrs had another great ski trip to Giants Ridge. Four other Ullrs joined us up there. The snow was wonderful with a few fresh inches of it each day. It was a bit colder on Saturday, also windy and cloudy both days with little sun to speak of. Four Ullrs went cross-country skiing and reported good conditions.
We do enjoy staying at the Lodge with ski in, ski out capability and our roomy suites, pool, hot tub and exercise room. The Saturday evening buffet was held downstairs this year in the Vermilion North room. Some of us used that room afterwards to play Catch Phrase and the following day we all used it to store our belongings while we skied. Some Ullrs enjoyed listening to a three-piece combo in the Sticks Lounge on the main level. The rest of us played Sequence and Mexican Train in the lounge area right outside the bar where we could enjoy the music too.
Coming home was a bit dicey as the first part of the trip we had icy road conditions with quite a few cars in the ditch. Our bus driver did a great job getting us back safely to our cars, covered with snow, in the Honeywell lot.
